The decision to admit a student is based upon a variety of factors which take into account what an individual may contribute to the University, as well as what the University is able to contribute to that person. REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL GRADUATE PROGRAMS:
- Complete the online application for admission and return it with a non-refundable $30 application fee. Application fee waived if submitted on-line.
- Request official transcripts from all previous institution(s) attended and have them sent to Point Park University.
- Submit two letters of recommendation. Your references should be in a position to assess your potential for successful graduate study. Recommendation forms can be downloaded.
SCHOOL OF ARTS AND SCIENCES
Criminal Justice
M.S. in CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION
- Undergraduate GPA of 2.75 required for straight acceptance.
- A 500-word essay explaining the applicant’s motivation for seeking graduate education, professional experience, and career goals.
- Submit a current resume.
- Two letters of recommendation—one preferably from a current/former professor addressing the applicant’s academic ability for graduate work, and the other letter from a current/former employer.
Education
M.A. in CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION
- Submit a current resume.
- A statement of purpose is required which addresses how your professional experience and career goals relate to graduate study.
- Undergraduate QPA of 3.0 required due to PA Department of Education guidelines.
- Applicants for K-12 concentration must have 5 years of teaching experience.
M.A. in EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION
- Applicants must have 5 years of teaching experience.
- Undergraduate QPA of 3.0 required due to PA Department of Education guidelines.
- Submit a current resume.

M.Ed. PROGRAM LEADING TO SECONDARY CERTIFICATION
- Baccalaureate degree in the content area or related field is required.
- Undergraduate QPA of 3.0 required for straight acceptance.
- Submit a current resume.
- A statement of purpose is required which addresses how your professional experience and career goals relate to graduate study.
- Prior to admission, students must complete PDE requirements, including passing Pre-Professional and Content Area Praxis exams.

Natural Sciences and Engineering Technology
M.S. in ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT
- Applicants must have an engineering, engineering tech, or related undergraduate degree.

M.S. in ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
- Applicants must have 6-9 undergraduate credits in university science coursework completed.
- Undergraduate QPA of 2.75 required for straight acceptance.
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (M.B.A.)
- Minimum undergraduate QPA of 2.75 for straight acceptance.
- A statement of purpose is required which addresses how your professional experience and career goals relate to graduate study.
- A business-related degree is required to enter the one-year completion format.
- Submit a current resume.
M.A. in ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP
- A statement of purpose is required which addresses how your professional experience and career goals relate to graduate study.
- Undergraduate QPA of 2.75 required for straight acceptance.
SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION
M.A. in JOURNALISM & MASS COMMUNICATION
- A 500-word statement explaining your motivation and expected benefit in attaining this degree is required.
- Undergraduate QPA of 2.75 required for straight acceptance.
- Applicants with undergrad QPAs below 2.75 overall and/or less than 3.0 in their major are required to submit official scores from the GRE (Graduate Record Examination).
- Letters of recommendation must be from current and/or former professors or employers.
- Applicants are encouraged to include a resume and/or examples of professional work in journalism and mass communication professions.
CONSERVATORY OF PERFORMING ARTS
M.F.A. in ACTING
Highly selective admission process conducted through the Conservatory of Performing Arts.
CONCURRENT M.B.A./M.A.
Student must apply and be accepted to each program. Please follow both the MBA and MA in Journalism & Mass Communication requirements.
