“Downtown is our campus, so it is appropriate that our students would have a number of exciting opportunities to ensure the success of NFL Draft Week. I have no doubt their professionalism and skills will be on full display as the spotlight shines on Pittsburgh.”

Point Park University is facilitating numerous opportunities for its students related to NFL Draft Week, which will take place the week of April 20 at various North Shore locations, including Acrisure Stadium and Point State Park.

“Downtown is our campus, so it is appropriate that our students would have a number of exciting opportunities to ensure the success of NFL Draft Week,” said Dr. Chris W. Among those students is Emma Davies, a junior Sports, Arts, Entertainment & Music Business program student who is working as a full-time 2026 NFL Draft operations intern. Davies was interning for the Steelers in Acrisure Stadium during the fall semester and, as the opportunity was wrapping up, she was invited to apply for the draft opportunity.

“I sit in on most things Draft-related — operational calls, hospitality planning, ticketing packages,” she said. “The networking has been phenomenal. I have met so many people I never thought I’d meet. I’ve been very lucky to have this opportunity.”

In addition to Davies, the Rowland School of Business will have more than 15 students assigned through the NFL Teammate Program to work on various NFL Draft Experience activities, which will involve event operations troubleshooting and fan services, providing directions and answering guests’ questions.

Another opportunity is the Street Ambassador Program in partnership with Visit Pittsburgh and Skilly AI. Up to 15 Point Park students will be roaming Downtown to greet visitors here for the NFL Draft, answering questions and helping them build free personalized Pittsburgh itineraries using Point Park and Visit Pittsburgh tools. Ambassadors will be stationed at locations including Market Square, Gateway Center and the T Station, along with Point Park’s Academic Hall and Alumni Park.

In the School of Communication, sports communication, digital journalism and public relations students are getting an opportunity to work for professional media outlets during the draft. The school has created partnerships with a number of outlets to provide photos, video and other reporting developed on site.

Renda Media, a Pittsburgh-based radio broadcasting company with 18 stations in six markets throughout Western Pennsylvania and in Florida, will be using Point Park students for live radio segments and photo and digital content support. Other partnerships include: The Sporting News, WESA, WTAJ, Seven Mountains Media, Centre Daily Times, Pittsburgh MagazineLatrobe Bulletin, Tribune-Review, Indiana Gazette and Table Magazine.

“Our students are getting an incredible opportunity to gain significant practical experience working with a number of professional media outlets during one of the largest events Pittsburgh has ever seen,” said Bernie Ankney, dean of the School of Communication.

The Rowland School of Business will be assisting with the Women Who Rock NFL Draft Pop-Up Experience, which will take place at Piatt Place, 301 Fifth Ave., from April 22 to 25. A number of female artists will be spotlighted.

Rowland also is partnering with Jamesetta Cleveland, founder of Sports Mom University and the 360 Sports Moms Network, to present an NFL Dads Panel on April 23 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Point Park’s 200 Lawrence Hall. On the panel will be Terrence Parsons, father of Green Bay Packer Micah Parsons; Lamon Ramsey, father of Pittsburgh Steeler Jalen Ramsey; and Tony Williams, father of Pittsburgh Steeler Brandin Echols. They will discuss how sports creates other opportunities in your life as well as fatherhood and parenting a high-level athlete.
